From County Arts Agencies
The Artists-in-Education (AiE) Grant Program, administered by the Howard County Arts Council, places professional artists in residence at Howard County public and private K-12 schools to provide hands-on arts experiences that enhance the curriculum. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) schools within the Howard County Public School System and independent 501(c)(3) schools without a PTA. The application deadline is June 5, 2025.
The Gifts of Art Program is seeking submissions for individual and group art exhibits for the September 2025 to August 2026 exhibition year. Gifts of Art’s rotating gallery program is intended to support the healing process by calming nerves, lifting spirits, engaging minds and thereby reducing the stress and anxiety often associated with healthcare settings. At Michigan Medicine, creating an environment of care is a core value with the goal of fostering a healing space where everyone feels seen, respected and has a sense of belonging. This value is reflected in the artwork we select for our galleries: art that welcomes, art that amplifies voices, and art that reflects the community we serve at Michigan Medicine.
The purpose of the Maryland Public Artist Roster is to establish a pre-qualified list of public artists who are interested in creating new, original, and site-responsive artworks for Maryland’s college and university campuses, laboratories, courthouses, police barracks, administrative offices, treatment centers, and other buildings and facilities owned and operated by the state of Maryland. All works commissioned through this program become a part of the State of Maryland’s contemporary public art collection.
The Allegany Arts Council is pleased to announce a Call for Entry for its 25th Annual Wills Creek Exhibition of Fine Art, which will take place at the Roper Gallery located on the Frostburg State University Campus in Frostburg, Maryland, from August 23-September 6, 2025.
The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. (WCAC) and Washington Goes Purple invite local artists working in any medium to submit their art for the September 2025 exhibit, “The Art of Overcoming: Healing Through Creativity.” The juried community art exhibit will be on display in the galleries from September 4, 2025 through September 30, 2025 and virtually beginning, September 6, 2025. “The Art of Overcoming: Healing Through Creativity - The journey through addiction and recovery looks different for everyone but the outcome benefits individuals, families, and our community. Help us celebrate those who have traveled this path and instill hope in those who are continuing on this journey.”
Arts in Education Grant from Harford County Cultural Arts Board supports high-quality arts experiences for Pre-K through 12th grade audiences, or other institutional or targeted settings for any age underserved population, in Harford County.

The Baltimore Mural Program through the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts invites all artists who can envision the big picture to apply for inclusion in the city's Muralist Registry. Community representatives use the registry when choosing artists to design and paint city-commissioned murals in their neighborhoods.

Caroline County Council of Arts (CCCA) is accepting applications for its Artist in Residence programs, of which there are a few options to apply. Chosen artists will have the opportunity to utilize the studio space at the Foundry in Denton, MD.
CCCA is looking for Artists, hobbyists, and instructors of all skill levels are encouraged to apply, helping them provide fun, enriching arts experiences at the Foundry and other locations in 2024. An approach of positivity, patience and kindness is a must.
Carroll County Arts Council is searching for artists to exhibit in their two galleries.
The purpose of these grants is to support bringing Maryland artists and performers into the public schools for residencies, workshops, assembly performances, Master Classes, etc. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. Performer/Artist rosters can be found at Maryland State Arts Council, Class Acts Arts or Young Audiences of Maryland. Arts in Education funding applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
This fund is for arts programming and residencies that encourage active community participation. Applicants must be located within Cecil County. One grant per year per organization is our usual policy (special circumstances may warrant a departure from this position). Deadline is the 1st of Every Month
The Arts in Education Program is designed to promote, strengthen, and enhance the arts and arts education in Cecil County’s elementary and secondary schools and other community settings.
The Frederick Arts Council has an annual arts in education fund from which it awards matching grants to schools and other educational entities. The purpose of these grants is to enable teachers and program specialists to enhance their arts curricula by drawing upon the talents of artists and arts organizations in our community.
Talbot Arts invites organizations and schools that sponsor qualifying arts activities in Talbot County to apply for a mini-grant to support arts-related purposes and programs. Organizations and schools can receive between $100 and $500 for a project.

Project RestART is an initiative geared to supporting and sustaining Baltimore’s cultural economy through an equitable lens. This four part program hires, trains, sponsors and provides opportunities for black creatives, as a means of restarting the black creative economy post Covid.
The CalvART Gallery is seeking emerging and established artists to showcase. Local artists from the tri-county Southern Maryland area are encouraged to apply to display at the gallery. The gallery is a juried gallery and seeks diversity in artwork and membership and has removed the requirement to volunteer to promote greater availability to working artists. While volunteering is not required, volunteering to the extent you are able with the Arts Council is encouraged and welcomed.

The Washington County Arts Council is currently accepting show proposals for 2025. To submit, please email a proposal with the required materials outlined on Washington County Arts Council website.
Artists, ages 18 and older, working in all media and styles including time-based and installation artists, are encouraged to apply either individually or as a group. They also welcome proposals from curators and arts organizations.
The Frederick Arts Council provides visual art scholarships in memory of our passed Board President, Michael Campagnoli, as well as local artist Brittany Shiben, an opportunity established by her loving family and friends. Scholarships are combined to award to visual art students K-12, seeking visual arts instruction in a group or individualized setting. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis until the budget is exhausted, and the program reopens upon related donations.
Dorchester Center for the Arts (DCA) seeks applications from artists for exhibitions at Dorchester Center for the Arts, located at 321 High Street, Cambridge, MD. The selected artists will be invited to exhibit a selection of their current work in a portion of the Gallery Space at DCA. This is an open call to artists residing within 100 miles of Dorchester County. Residents of Dorchester County are encouraged to apply. All exhibitions will be featured in DCA’s print and online communications.
The Mini-Grant Program is for grant requests between $100 and $500 for organizations, schools, and artists that sponsor qualifying arts activities.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) is proud to announce the 10th edition of the Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City (MASB) Artist Travel Prize, sponsored by MASB. MASB was founded in 1899 as part of the City Beautiful movement. It is one of only two remaining societies to be operating under its original charter “to provide sculptural and pictorial decoration and ornaments for the public buildings, streets and open spaces in the City of Baltimore, and to help generally beautify the City.” Artistic contributions to the City span more than one hundred years.

The Chesapeake Gallery at Harford Community College, located in Bel Air, MD, is excited to invite artists, artist groups, and curators to apply for their 2026-2027 exhibition season.
Gibbs Street Residency at VisArts offers a distinctive opportunity for two innovative individual artists or collaborative artist teams to immerse themselves in a dynamic, supportive environment. Over a six-month period, residents are encouraged to create new work, expand upon an existing body of work, or develop a meaningful project.
Artist interns, ages 14-19, will create original artwork, from idea and design development through production and the final product. Interns will receive 64 total hours of instruction and compensation of up to $500.
Second Street Gallery is currently accepting submissions for our Season 52 Juried Exhibition and Fundraiser, Teeny Tiny Trifecta 8, to be held in the Main Gallery from September 5–26, 2025. Please review the exhibition application requirements HERE and take particular note of the new size requirements: 8 x 8 inches (or round works with a diameter of 8 inches).
The Meeting House Gallery at The Oakland Mills Interfaith Center is accepting applications for future exhibits. Artwork in all media and styles which can be hung, including wall sculptures, is acceptable. The gallery is large, has very good lighting, and has two display cases for three-dimensional work. Between congregational services, a nursery school, meetings, private parties, and other events, more than 3,000 people visit our building each week.
Baltimore Claywork's long-term residency offers early to mid-career artists the opportunity to develop their work in a dynamic community environment for one to three years. The selection of residents is highly competitive and based on artistic excellence, the potential for growth, the strength of the proposal, and a commitment to building a clay-oriented community. Awarded to all early to mid-career artists who have completed either undergraduate and/or graduate degrees, or have equivalent years of experience. Residencies start in September.
Annmarie Garden is accepting proposals for the exhibition of outdoor works in our beautiful sculpture garden located in Southern Maryland. Environmental Art & Site Specific Installations - Artists who create site-specific installations are encouraged to submit proposals, and may want to consider applying to our Artist-in-Residence program. Financial considerations will vary depending on the project. An honorarium, will be awarded to accepted artists.

Maryland Art Place (MAP), in partnership with Hotel Indigo is pleased to announce an open ‘Call to Artists’. As an extension of MAP’s annual IMPACT public art partnership projects, MAP is working with Hotel Indigo to offer rotating exhibitions in Hotel indigo’s library and Poets Modern Cocktails and Eats. This opportunity is available to visual artists living or working in Maryland. Maryland Art Place will curate four exhibitions a year based on submissions entered through a rolling basis.
Maryland Hall is looking for an exhibition to be shown in the Chaney and Martino Galleries. Please note gallery shows are planned 6-18 months in advance and submissions are subject to approval.

Gallery Unicorn seeks applications from artists for individual or joint exhibitions at Gallery Unicorn, Towson Unitarian Universalist Church, 1710 Dulaney Valley Road, Lutherville, MD, 21093. Gallery Unicorn is the rotating, year-round display of art on the walls of the sanctuary at Towson Unitarian Universality Church (TUUC), featuring painters, photographers, collage makers and more, both from TUUC and beyond. Artists working in any media that can be wall hung are invited to propose a show. Artists interested in showing their work are required to submit to Gallery Unicorn a completed application.
Three studios are housed in a converted 19th-century barn with exposed timber peg joints. A pottery studio, also housed in a converted barn, is located in the courtyard, and two studios are located inside the Museum. Resident artists are sculptors, metalsmiths, potters, and mixed media artists who draw inspiration from nature, history, and the Museum’s collection among many other sources. Studio openings vary, please submit an application if you would like to be considered.
The City of Frederick’s Art in City Hall program is administered by the Office of the Mayor, Department of Arts and Culture. The program presents rotating exhibitions throughout the year, providing opportunities for the public to view artwork from the City’s collection as well from local arts and culture organizations, non-profits, schools, libraries, and other community groups in the public areas of City Hall. The Office of the Mayor is committed to highlighting historically underrepresented communities. Exhibitions are open and free for the public and visitors and displayed for a period of one to three months.
The Arts in Education Grant program is in place to enhance arts experiences for youth and other underserved populations in Harford County by utilizing the talents, skills, and creativity of Maryland-based professional teaching artists.
The Department of Art + Design, Art History, Art Education offers a variety of scholarships and awards based on merit and/or need for incoming freshman or existing students.
Artists in Action is a short-term studio residency program that will take place from April 2 - June 1, 2025. Artists will select residency dates, typically 1-2 weeks, between April 2, 2025 and June 1, 2025. All media are welcome, and artists are allowed to work in a free studio space at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, at an indoor or outdoor location. The program will include the opportunity to exhibit and sell artwork throughout the duration of the program, and an opportunity to host a workshop or class. Limited housing is available for out-of-town artists.
Small businesses in Southeast Baltimore County, Southeast Baltimore, and North Anne Arundel County communities have faced significant disruption from the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
The France-Merrick Foundation concentrates its grant-making within the State of Maryland and primarily within the greater Baltimore area. Applicants must be a non-profit organization holding 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Code.
The Foundation favors one-time, project-oriented requests which have defined beginnings and endings, as opposed to annual giving or ongoing operational support.
Sandy Spring Museum will have a resident artist studio available for rent starting 7/1/25. The museum offers a limited number of studios for rent to independent artists. Six studios are located within the museum administrative wing and in two outbuildings (a modern barn and a historic barn).

Sandy Spring Museum connects diverse communities and advances social equity through shared an inspiring experience of our region’s cultural heritage. We are dedicated to supporting artists from diverse cultural backgrounds, especially those working within the traditions of folklore and community storytelling.

Regional
The Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence is awarded annually to one outstanding, early-career artist who is developing new works that address plants, gardens, or landscapes in the broad sense. This award is open to visual artists, literary artists, dancers, and musicians. The award includes a $10,000 individual grant and requires a 2 - 5 week stay at Oak Spring. While at OSGF, the Fellow will be able to meet with staff, explore our 700-acre landscape and our efforts in sustainable land management, and visit our rare book library that holds over 19,000 objects, including many examples of botanical art.
The Capital Projects grant program (formerly Facilities and Buildings) supports organizations. Eligible organizations fall into three categories:
- Those that own or rent facilities.
- Those that intend to own facilities.
- Those that seek capital project support for permanent property, technology, equipment, or digital assets. These assets are designed for the training, management, production, or presentation of performances or exhibitions of the arts or humanities.
This competitive grant program provides support for the development and public presentation of visual art exhibitions by District resident curators. The program does this through grant support and use of CAH’s exhibition spaces. Exhibition space is both within the building lobby 200 I (Eye) Street Galleries and on CAH's virtual platform. If the gallery is unavailable, the exhibitions will be installed on the on-line platform only. Applicants must be individuals with prior curatorial experience.
The Art and Change Grant (ACG) provides grants of up to $2,500 to fund art for social change projects by women, trans*, and/or gender nonconforming artists and cultural producers living in Greater Philadelphia.
The Public Art Building Communities (PABC) grant program supports individual artists and organizations in their effort to design, fabricate and install new permanent or temporary works of public art that connect artists (and their artwork) with communities.
The Lancaster County Art Association is putting out a call for artists and craftspeople to participate in Lancaster County's Fine Art & Craft Show. This juried show will be held indoors on October 11, 2025 at the Solanco Fairgrounds in Quarryville PA.
The Archives of American Art offers internships year-round to students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs who wish to learn and gain professional experience in various fields including archival science, information management, museum studies, art administration, art history, and cultural studies.
These scholarships are directed towards graduating students pursuing a career in Fine Art.
Each of the four $500 scholarship recipients may use the funds to purchase supplies or tuition needs for secondary education.
Creative Catalyst grants support new initiatives and opportunities that advance strategies for strengthening the cultural, educational, or economic vitality of Pennsylvania’s communities through the arts.
These grants for individuals are designed to empower artists and creative entrepreneurs in their personal and professional development.
The Window of Opportunity (WOO) grant provides financial assistance of up to $1,500 to Leeway grant and award recipients to help them take advantage of imminent, time-sensitive opportunities to support their art for social change practice.
National & Beyond
The 15th Annual “Landscapes” Online Art Competition, hosted by Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery, invites 2D and 3D artists worldwide to submit their best representational or abstract artworks depicting the natural world, outdoor scenery, and related landscape subjects. The competition offers artists the opportunity for international exposure through an online group exhibition scheduled for June 1–30, 2025.
Love First International proudly invites graphic designers from around the globe to participate in our International Logo Design Contest. They are calling artists to design a new official logo for Love First International. This unique opportunity allows you to showcase your creativity and join a global competition. Through this festival, artists can contribute to realizing their vision by designing a logo that reflects their mission.
Fusion Art invites submissions for the Figures & Faces 2025 art competition for an online exhibition during the month of June 2025.
For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography depicting the human form - both figures & faces. All artists, regardless of location or experience, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography.
A poignant reflection on contemporary slavery and forced migration, this issue delves into exploitative labor practices, human trafficking, and the loss of human rights. It examines the economic and personal challenges faced by migrants, including discrimination, culture shock, and the lingering mental health effects for descendants of slavery.
Visionary Arts Collective is excited to announce an open call for Resonance, their upcoming virtual exhibition and print catalog that explores the deep, often unspoken ways art connects us to something beyond ourselves.
The Larch Creative Fund, in conjunction with the Spruill Center for the Arts, is seeking project proposals for innovative projects that encourage creative and critical thinking through the arts, with a focus on having fun and encouraging community participation and related activities. A total funding of $50,000 in grants will be awarded to artists or organizations. Grant funding amounts will be awarded commensurate with the project scope and impact, in amounts determined at the discretion of the jury committee.

Residencies of four to ten weeks include studio space, chef-prepared meals, housing, travel and living expenses. AIRs become part of a dynamic community of artists participating in Headlands’ other programs, allowing for exchange and collaborative relationships to develop within the artist community on campus. Artists selected for this program are at all career stages and work in all media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, new media, installation, fiction and nonfiction writing, poetry, dance, music, interdisciplinary, social practice, and architecture.
Summerlin Festival of Arts is celebrating its 29th year in 2025 on The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin. In the affluent Summerlin area of Las Vegas, the popular outdoor event features the works of more than 100 fine artists. An established outdoor art festival, the celebration’s focus is to support fine artists and artisans.
Art Fluent’s grant cycle is now open to individual artists through an international open call. The Evolution Grant will provide unrestricted funding to an individual artist with recognized artistic excellence in fine art media and a demonstrated commitment to their art. This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Once an artist is awarded an Evolution Grant, they will not be eligible to apply again. Open to ALL fine art mediums (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, ceramics, digital art). AI will not be accepted. There is no restriction on style, genre, or subject matter. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible.
The Visions of Renewal Photography Contest, presented by SeeingHappy and the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), invites people around the world, ages 13 and up, to capture photographs that reflect the spirit of renewal in their lives or communities. Whether it’s the resilience of nature, the rebuilding of communities, or moments of personal transformation, this contest encourages creative reflection on how the world continues to heal, grow, and flourish despite adversity. Open to anyone with a camera or smartphone, the contest offers prizes including Amazon gift cards and IPPA memberships, and selected photos will be exhibited at the 2025 World Congress on Positive Psychology in Brisbane, Australia.

CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to apply for the CICA Art Residency/Internship Program 2026. The program will take place at the CICA Museum in 2026, with both 6-month and 12-month terms available. Artists will have access to a shared studio space and will present a one-week solo exhibition during their term. Accommodation will be provided, along with work opportunities. Participants are expected to work 14 hours per week. A grant will be provided throughout the internship term. Participating artists will also be featured in the e-book CICA Art Now 2026, with a print edition available by order. The “Summer 5 for $10” 2025 Online Art Competition, hosted by Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery, is an open-themed exhibition welcoming artists worldwide. Participants can submit up to five 2D or 3D artworks—including painting, photography, sculpture, or digital art—for a flat fee of $10. The submission deadline is June 17, 2025, and the online exhibition will run from July 5 to September 5, 2025. Giertz Gallery at Parkland College seeks exhibition proposals by solo artists, collaborative groups, or curators in all genres of contemporary approaches to art-making. Preference will be given to artists with an established exhibition record.
The competition is open to amateur photographers. The Organiser of the competition is the Royal Society of Biology in the United Kingdom. This year's theme is “Restoring Biodiversity and Habitat”.
The Biodiversity Drawing Contest has as main objective to promote the subject of biological natural heritage, like the natural regions, the ecosystems, the habitats and the species of wild fauna and flora, through the selection and classification of works, drawings and illustrations related to this subject, according to the criteria defined in regulation. It also seeks to promote illustration and design of nature and to encourage the growth of Participants who portray the natural heritage of the wild, as well as launching the debate and reflection of society on the need to knowing, promoting and conserving biodiversity.
